Garland, TX – The Garland Civic Theatre announced its schedule for the 58th season, promising an array of productions that include iconic stars, mysterious murders, small-town secrets, and backstage shenanigans.

The season will kick off with Always, Patsy Cline, running from August 29 to September 14, 2025. Created and originally directed by Ted Swindley, this musical is based on the true story of the friendship between country music legend Patsy Cline and her devoted fan, Louise Seger. Featuring 27 of Cline’s greatest hits, the show captures the emotional journey of love, heartache, and the enduring legacy of one of country music’s most beloved stars.
Following this heartfelt tribute, the theatre will present The Mousetrap from October 10 to 26, 2025. Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery unfolds as a group of strangers finds themselves snowed in at a remote guesthouse, only to discover that one among them is a murderer. With suspenseful twists and turns, this play keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
In the spirit of the holiday season, A Tuna Christmas will take the stage from December 5 to 14, 2025. Set in the fictional town of Tuna, Texas, this comedic play follows the chaos of the annual Christmas Yard Display Contest. With just two actors portraying twenty-two different characters, this production offers a satirical and humorous glimpse into small-town life during the holidays.
The new year will bring the musical mystery Curtains, scheduled for January 30 to February 15, 2026. Set in 1959, the plot revolves around the opening night of a Broadway musical that is abruptly interrupted by a murder. Detective Frank Cioffi, a musical theatre enthusiast, must solve the crime while the show goes on, blending comedy, mystery, and musical elements in a captivating narrative.
Next up is Neil Simon’s Rumors, running from March 1 to 29, 2026. This charming farce centers on a dinner party gone awry when the hosts discover that their friend, the deputy mayor of New York City, has had an accident involving a shotgun. As guests arrive and hilarity ensues, the play offers a witty exploration of friendships and the complexities of married life.
The season will conclude with the uproarious comedy Drinking Habits, from April 17 to May 3, 2026. In this laugh-out-loud farce, two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have taken to secretly making wine to save their convent. When reporters posing as a nun and priest show up, chaos unfolds as mistaken identities and romantic entanglements complicate the situation.
All performances will be hosted at the Granville Arts Center, providing a welcoming venue for audiences to enjoy these entertaining productions.
