Garland, TX – The spirit of the season came alive this week at the Annual Children’s Christmas Party hosted by the Noon Exchange Club of Garland, a heartwarming event months in the making. With the final gift-wrapping touches taking place just a day before the celebration, dozens of volunteers from across the area congregated at North Garland High School to wrap and sort thousands of gifts to distribute at the party. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as local high school volunteers and community members prepared to welcome over 350 children from Garland ISD.
“The success of this event is made possible through the dedication of our members and the hard work of more than 150 high school volunteers,” said Javier Solis, President of Noon Exchange. “We shopped for gifts that would fulfill each child’s holiday wishlist. Every child will also receive a pair of New Balance shoes and a backpack, generously donated by the Tyrese Maxey Foundation.”

As the children entered the party, they were greeted by a joyful spectacle: dozens of high school students and community volunteers dressed in holiday costumes, spreading cheer at every corner. To add to the festive spirit, attendees walked through a lively 400-foot spirit tunnel, a delightful introduction to the merriment awaiting them inside.
Once inside, each child announced their school campus over the loudspeaker and was escorted to their designated table, where a warm lunch awaited. The atmosphere was electric, especially as students from Rowlett High, North Garland High, and Lakeview Centennial performed various musical and dance numbers, captivating the young audience.
Behind the scenes, volunteers worked diligently to coordinate the delivery of large bags filled with gift-wrapped toys and wishlist items. Excitement filled the air when one child, who had been quiet up to that moment, excitedly grabbed her bag and uncovered a pair of roller skates. Her face lit up, and she immediately broke into a little dance, envisioning all the moves she would make on her new skates.
Another young girl gleefully hugged her new oversized Stitch plushie, jumping for joy at her unexpected treasure. The children’s laughter and cheers echoed throughout the room as they tried on their new shoes and showed off their gifts to friends.
As the event came to a close, each child packed up their new treasures into their backpacks. Many shared their favorite parts of the day, and surprisingly, while the gifts were delightful, numerous kids expressed how much they enjoyed the music and performances by the older students and volunteers. The high school teens were equally thrilled, appreciating the opportunity to make a difference in the younger children’s lives.
The Annual Children’s Christmas Party by the Noon Exchange not only fulfilled holiday wishlists but also fostered a sense of community and joy spanning all ages, embodying the spirit of giving and togetherness. This heartwarming celebration reminded everyone present that the true magic of the season lies in sharing joy and creating memories together.
