Garland, TX – Epiphany Gallery is hosting a reception for its new exhibit, “Cultural Currents: Art Across Heritage,” which will take place on Friday, August 22nd, from 7 to 9 p.m. This powerful exhibition brings together the works of three talented artists from diverse cultural backgrounds—Ivan Puga, Maria Rasheed, and Trey Norris—each sharing their unique perspectives on identity, tradition, and shared humanity.

Ivan Puga, a Mexican-American artist from Dallas, showcases bold and expressive pieces that delve into personal and cultural storytelling. With a commitment to inspiring creativity, Puga also teaches art at South Garland High School, where he guides students to embrace their artistic identities.
Maria Rasheed, a Pakistani artist trained in visual communication design, uses mixed media to explore her roots and spirituality. Her intricate works often reference traditional Indo-Persian miniature painting techniques and reflect themes of memory and migration, addressing the fragility of both objects and human experiences.
Trey Norris, an African American photographer, captures the essence of Black life, resilience, and beauty through his lens. His work highlights the rich narratives within the community and contributes to the larger conversation about identity and representation.
This exhibition is a celebration of diversity—not only in ethnicity but also in perspective and lived experiences. “Cultural Currents” aims to open hearts and minds, fostering understanding and appreciation through art. The gallery invites the community to join in this celebration and help spread the word about this impactful show.
All are welcome to attend the reception at Epiphany Gallery, where art lovers can engage with the artists and their thought-provoking works. For more information, visit the gallery’s website.
