Garland, TX – This past week, the spirit of the holiday season came alive in the Holiday Park neighborhood as residents awoke to a delightful surprise—a visit from everyone’s favorite green grump, the Grinch. In collaboration with Walmart associates, Garland Mayor Dylan Hedrick, Councilmember Joe Thomas, Jr., and the Garland Police Department, the Grinch (Councilmember Carissa Dutton) delivered wrapped gifts featuring some of this year’s Black Friday deals.

As the sun rose, residents were treated to an unexpected festive beginning to the holiday season. Gabby Guerrero, a delighted Garland resident, recounted her morning surprise, saying, “I woke up this morning and heard something outside the window. When I heard my mom open the front door and exclaim, ‘Oh my God! Merry Christmas!’ I had to find out what was happening. Seeing the Grinch walking down the street was incredible!”
The thoughtful gifts included a range of popular items, from Beats by Dre Solo4 wireless headphones to a Keurig K-Duo coffee machine. As residents learned about the goodies awaiting them, the excitement grew, setting a joyful tone for the upcoming shopping season.
