Garland Cultural Arts Commission Announces Call for Entries for Art Vibe Garland Exhibition

Garland, Texas – The Garland Cultural Arts Commission invites local artists to participate in the Art Vibe Garland exhibition, which aims to showcase the vibrant talents of 2D visual artists from North Texas. Selected artworks will be displayed at eight locations throughout the City of Garland, encouraging residents to explore the complete exhibition across all sites.

The submission period for entries opens on July 1 and closes on July 25, 2025. Artists will be notified of acceptance on July 29, and accepted works must be dropped off at the Granville Arts Center on August 4-5. The opening reception for the exhibition is scheduled for August 7, with the exhibition running from August 13 to September 9, 2025. Artworks must be collected on September 12, 2025.

Artists who reside in Garland or the greater North Texas area and are 18 years or older are eligible to submit their work, with all skill levels encouraged to apply. A total of five entries may be submitted, and only 2D artwork will be accepted, including paintings, drawings, printmaking, and collage. Each piece must not exceed a width of 36 inches, including the frame or mat.

The exhibition will feature one “Best-Of-Show” award of $200, along with eight Juror’s Choice Awards of $100 each. The juror for the exhibition, Maureen Womack, is a recognized artist known for her abstract acrylic works, which have been showcased in various galleries across the region.

Artists whose works are accepted will receive notification via email or text. A list of selected artists will be posted on the Garland Arts website by August 13. This exhibition presents a unique opportunity for local artists to showcase their creative talents and engage with the Garland community.
