Garland, TX – For much of the year our neighbors may be just those people we drive by or pass as we are busily going about the business of our lives. Once a year, however, neighbors get a chance to come together for food, music and fellowship on National Night Out, and Garland was out in full force for the event this year.
Garland Mayor Dylan Hedrick spoke to The Garland Gazette about the importance of the event as he and his two youngest kids made the rounds.
At The Shores of Wellington, kids got to spin their own cotton candy, meet neighborhood police officers, and even sit behind the wheel of a firetruck.

The neighborhood craft fair also allowed kids to show off their creativity and make a little money, as well!

Kids could even find out about the local scouting program!

Getting the neighborhood together reminds us that no matter how busy we might be, we really are all here for each other. We have more in common that we might realize, and hey, we might even make some new friends.
National Night Out was a big success, so here’s a big thank you to everyone who showed up and helped make it happen!
