Garland, TX — Join the city and the Preservation Society for Spring Creek Forest for a hands-on volunteer experience at the Partners in Preservation event on Sunday, January 18, from 12:30 to 3:30 PM at the Spring Creek Park Preserve.
The volunteer opportunity through Volunteer Garland offers residents a chance to engage in conservation work while enjoying the natural beauty of the park. Participants will have the unique opportunity to work alongside members of the Preservation Society and learn about ongoing preservation efforts in the area.
The day’s activities include clearing a pile of old rusted cans and trash, as well as removing invasive plant species from three designated locations within the preserve. At the end of the experience, volunteers will take a guided walk through the woods along Spring Creek, allowing them to appreciate the natural surroundings they’ve helped to protect.
Pre-registration is required, as participation is limited to 25 volunteers to ensure the sensitivity of the natural area is maintained. No walk-up volunteers will be accepted. All volunteers are asked to arrive by 12:30 p.m., with cleanup activities scheduled from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m..
