Trusted World: Redefining Support for Families in Need Through Efficient Resource Distribution

Garland, TX – Trusted World, one of the largest non-profits in North Texas, is making significant strides in its mission to help families in need with dignity and efficiency. Based in Garland’s industrial corridor, the organization has plans to expand its operations with a larger facility in the coming years, reflecting its commitment to enhancing support for the community.

During a recent visit to the facility, I had the opportunity to meet with Founder and CEO, Michael Garrett. As we sat in his office, a mounted television screen displayed a dashboard showcasing data about recent orders and ongoing operations. Garrett spoke with passion and genuine excitement about the work Trusted World is doing, as well as his dedication to helping other non-profits strengthen their operations. His background as an operations and quality assurance leader in various industrial organizations has equipped him with the skills necessary to run a data-driven, organized operation.

Founded in 2014, Trusted World began with a simple yet powerful idea: to ensure that no one in the business of helping others is held back by a lack of resources. Since its inception, the organization has grown into a sophisticated logistics and software platform that supports over 850 partners, including schools, police departments, and other non-profits.

Unlike traditional assistance models, Trusted World operates through partnerships rather than directly serving individuals in need. This approach allows them to focus on fulfillment. Partners, such as school counselors and case managers, place orders for the specific needs of individuals—similar to ordering from an online retailer. Trusted World then fulfills these orders with the appropriate sizes, colors, and items, ensuring that families receive what they need in a timely manner.

When Trusted World receives an order, they hand-select items and carefully package each shipment to ensure everything arrives in good condition. To help keep the packages upright during transit, they place shoes at the bottom of the shipping bags, making it easier for delivery drivers to identify the correct package at each stop. Each item is checked five times and inspected for quality, ensuring there are no stains or defects. Many donated items are still new, and Trusted World guarantees that socks and underwear will always be brand new.

Garrett emphasized that Trusted World goes beyond merely delivering goods; it focuses on building a network of care. Through its platform, partners can connect families to essential services such as mental health resources, healthcare providers, and assistance with acquiring low- or no-cost health insurance. This collaborative approach is facilitated through a dashboard that not only offers immediate relief but also lays the groundwork for long-term stability.

In 2024, Trusted World fulfilled an impressive 18,099 customized orders, reaching over 84,000 individuals, 43% of whom were children. Each order represents a person receiving the necessary support without the stigma of judgment or delay. The organization’s in-house software not only streamlines logistics but also captures real-time data, allowing partners to track outcomes and enhance their services.

As Trusted World continues to grow, its commitment to compassion and efficiency remains unwavering. The organization is dedicated to reclaiming valuable time for its partners, allowing them to focus on what they do best—supporting and uplifting those in need. With plans for a larger facility on the horizon, Trusted World is poised to make an even greater impact in the community.
