Garland to Host 37th Annual MLK Day Parade

Garland, TX — The NAACP Garland Unit invites the community to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the 37th Annual MLK Day Parade on Saturday, January 17. The parade will commence at 10 a.m. at Dairy Road and Garden Drive, near Embree Park, and is expected to draw a diverse crowd celebrating unity and civil rights.

The parade route will follow Dairy Road north to Highway 66 (Avenue D), where it will turn left and continue west to First Street. Participants will then turn right on First Street and proceed to Highway 66 (Avenue B), before making another left onto 5th Street. The parade will finish at the Granville Arts Center, located at 300 N. 5th St.

This event marks an important occasion for reflection and celebration, honoring the contributions of Dr. King and the ongoing fight for equality and justice in the community. Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out, participate, and enjoy the festivities.
