Garland, TX – The Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center is inviting the community to join in on a fun-filled day of activities on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11 AM to 2 PM in Downtown Garland.
The centerpiece of the day is the Alumni Dog Show, which will showcase adopted shelter pets in a variety of entertaining categories. Participants can look forward to competitions such as Best in Belly Rubs, Best in Big Ears, Best in Wiggle Butt, and Best in Kisses. Additionally, there will be Halloween-themed contests including Best Costume, Best Trick, and Best Owner/Dog Look-Alike. Winners will receive prizes and special recognition on stage, making it a memorable experience for all involved.
Adding to the festivities is the Halloween Pet Crawl, where costumed pups can trick-or-treat at local businesses. Pet owners are encouraged to dress their dogs in creative costumes and follow a mapped route through Downtown Garland to collect treats and goodies, providing a delightful way to support local shops while enjoying the Halloween spirit.
In addition to the festivities, low-cost vaccinations will be available on site. Registration for the Alumni Dog Show is limited, so those interested should sign up early to secure their spot.
