A Historic Achievement for A’ja Lynn Bostic and South Garland High School

Garland, TX – A’ja Lynn Bostic from South Garland High School has made history by clinching 1st place in the Girls Powerlifting State Championship, a monumental achievement, being the first girl in Garland ISD history to win the title. This remarkable athlete not only secured the top spot but also shattered all four state records during the competition, showcasing her incredible strength and dedication.

With a staggering 550-pound squat, a 325-pound bench press, and a 530-pound deadlift, A’ja achieved a total lift of 1405 pounds. Her total lift marks a significant milestone, being recognized as the best 6A total in history and the 2nd best overall in girls’ powerlifting history. Her performance is a testament to her hard work and commitment to the sport. In addition to her championship title, A’ja received prestigious awards for Best Deadlift and Best Heavy Lifter.
