Upcoming Urban Market and Conspiracy on the Square

Garland – This Saturday, October 11, downtown Garland will come alive with exciting events: the October Garland Urban Market, Conspiracy on the Square, and Scream on the Square. Kicking off at 9 a.m. and running until 3 p.m., the Urban Market will feature a variety of local vendors and delicious treats, while Conspiracy on the Square will begin at 3 p.m. at Frocksy, where attendees can join in creating their own raven masks. Later in the evening, the original Ghostbusters will be playing in the Square.

After visiting the Urban Market for some seasonal flavors and products, head over to the Frocksy at 3 p.m. for an exclusive art experience where the conspiracy comes alive.

Conspiracy on the Square attendees will gather at Frocksy to make their own custom raven masks with the guidance of renowned visual artist, Trayc Claybrook. The theme of “conspiracy” comes from the collective noun for ravens, and what better way to participate in a conspiracy than by dressing up as ravens while supporting our local businesses?

Upon completing the crafting of raven masks, the group will flock to the many downtown businesses before making their way to one of downtown Garland’s up-and-coming spaces owned by Tom De Nolf. The space is still open for interested in businesses, and features incredible stained glass windows, and antique finishes most of which De Nolf intends to keep.

The Conspiracy on the Square participants will get a private viewing of a history Science Place exhibit, courtesy of the Science Place Foundation, and a special reading of The Raven.

To reserve a seat to make a mask at the Frocksy, email AJ, seats are limited. Already have a raven mask? Come on downtown to conspire with the group, message AJ on Facebook to coordinate.

Special stops will be made to Intrinsic, the Tavern, Dos Banderas, and Tacos y Vino.
