Garland, TX — The City of Garland is preparing for a busy evening on October 6, 2025, with back-to-back City Council meetings. The City Council Work Session will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. This scheduling is designed to accommodate the National Night Out celebrations taking place the following evening on Tuesday. The meetings will address several important topics and initiatives aimed at enhancing the community.
Work Session Agenda
The Work Session will kick off with the following items:
- Consider the Consent Agenda
- Council may discuss or request further information on any item posted in the consent agenda. Items may also be pulled for separate consideration at the next Regular Meeting.
- Written Briefings
- TxDOT STEP 2026 Comprehensive Grant: Approval of the FY 2026 Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Comprehensive Grant. This item will be scheduled for formal consideration at the October 6, 2025 Regular Meeting unless otherwise directed by Council.
- Neighborhood Vitality Matching Grant Funding Request – Spring 2025 Cycle: Consider approval of the Spring 2025 Neighborhood Vitality Matching Grant request from the Shores of Wellington, scheduled for formal consideration at the October 21, 2025 Regular Meeting unless directed otherwise.

- Spring Creek Forest Preserve and Wastewater Interceptor Condition Assessment: Garland Water Utilities staff will present a proposed professional services contract for a condition assessment of the Spring Creek Forest Preserve and Wastewater Interceptor, scheduled for consideration on October 21, 2025.
