Garland, TX – The spirit of giving is taking root in Garland as representatives from local non-profit organizations join forces to make this year’s North Texas Giving Day a resounding success. The Garland Giving Day Committee recently gathered to finalize plans, creating a roadmap for a landmark event set to energize the local community.
In attendance were dedicated representatives from Garland Summer Musicals, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland, Hope Clinic of Garland, Inc., Hope’s Door New Beginning Center, Visual Aid Volunteers, Inc., and Garland Civic Theatre. Their collaborative energy was palpable as they strategized on how to best inspire the city to support these vital organizations.
The main event is set for September 18th, with the opportunity for early giving kicking off even sooner on August 28th.
To rally support from across the area, the committee is preparing a robust outreach campaign, which includes distributing posters throughout downtown and using table talkers to spread the word about the invaluable work of the participating organizations.
“At Hope Clinic of Garland, our approach to North Texas Giving Day is rooted in whole-person care. We provide entirely free access to vital services—from primary and urgent care to spiritual support, nutrition and diabetes education, medication assistance, and help applying for community benefits—all delivered in both English and Spanish,” said a representative from the Hope Clinic. “Your generosity ensures we can continue offering high-quality, holistic healthcare to Garland’s underserved residents, helping families thrive physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”
Beverly North, the Executive Director of Visual Aid Volunteers, also shared her insights, stating, “At Visual Aid Volunteers, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive. That’s why we work tirelessly to provide crucial educational materials like braille books, large-print textbooks, Twin Vision Books, and specialized learning aids. These resources are often expensive and difficult to produce, but they are absolutely critical for our students.” Their commitment to ensuring that visually impaired students have the necessary materials to succeed is vital to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
