Garland, TX – On Wednesday, October 29, the District 113 community will come together for an engaging evening of dinner and dialogue focused on political civility. Hosted in partnership with Project Unity, this Together We Dine™ event aims to foster respectful conversations among community members and leaders. Space is limited, and guests are encouraged to register in advance to ensure accommodations.
The gathering will take place at the Garland Central Library, located at 625 Austin Street, from 6 to 8 PM CDT, with check-in starting at 5:30 PM. Participants are encouraged to arrive ready to engage in meaningful discussions about the importance of civil discourse in today’s politically charged environment.

The event will not center on debating political issues but instead will focus on listening, learning, and finding common ground to enhance mutual understanding among residents of Garland, Mesquite, and Rowlett. “Can we talk?” is the guiding question for the evening as community members are invited to explore what political civility looks like and why it matters.
Project Unity facilitators will lead small group discussions, creating an interactive environment for participants to share personal experiences and insights. The goal is to encourage honest dialogue that allows individuals to connect on a deeper level and recognize shared values that transcend political divides.
Dinner will be provided, and attendees must be 18 years or older to participate. Childcare will not be available, and registration is required due to limited capacity. The registration deadline is set for Friday, October 24, at 5:00 PM CST. A “Know Before You Go” email will be sent to all registered participants prior to the event.
This Together We Dine event is part of a broader initiative by Project Unity to build community through structured conversations and shared experiences. For more information about Project Unity and its programs, visit www.projectunity.net.
